A One Eleven East wedding that happened in a pandemic
I am continually amazed at the flexibility and resilience of my couples amidst a global pandemic. They have all risen to the occasion and have planned their special days despite circumstances that are less than ideal. Planning for a wedding in 2020 was not easy and Hannah and Aaron were one of those couples who had to flex and adjust as the months went by. They had chosen One Eleven East as their wedding venue early on in their wedding planning process. But when the pandemic hit, their wedding plans hung in the balance and they were faced with hard decisions. They both agreed that, even if it was just the two of them and a photographer, they were going to get married on their September date.
A perfect day that exceeded expectations
As the months went on, and the uncertainties continued, Hannah and Aaron found themselves one month out from their wedding date and they decided that the show would go on, regardless of how small it would be. They already had One Eleven East booked but, apart from a few dozen vintage brass candlesticks from a dusty roadside shop in New Mexico, they had nothing else planned for their decor. Not having the energy to find decor last minute, Hannah reached out to her planner and florist and they completely saved the day! Their small wedding of 28 guests at One Eleven East was more beautiful and perfect than either of them could have imagined!
A treasured first look and a romantic last dance
Two of my favorite parts of the day were the first look and the last dance. These private moments, where it was just the two of them and their love for each other, were stunning to photograph. During their final dance, they were looking into each others’ eyes and everyone else in the room disappeared for those few short minutes. It’s always an honor to capture a couple’s love on their wedding day. I never take it for granted and I wish Hannah and Aaron the absolute best in their journey together.

Before you jump into the photos, check out what this couple had to say about working with me:
"I spent an ungodly amount of time looking through Instagram and Pinterest for the perfect photographer before finding Nikk. We did not want the “cookie-cutter” wedding photos and his style really spoke to us, enough so that we never even thought about booking anyone else! From the moment we reached out he was on top of all the details. We live out of town and communicated only through phone and email and Nikk was always organized and professional. Neither of us are the ones to jump in front of a camera and I would describe us both as pretty awkward when it comes to posing so we needed someone who would make us comfortable and give good direction at the same time and he did exactly that.
His passion for capturing the special candid moments is real and he blew us all away with how beautiful the photos came out - and we got them within two weeks! He even left us with several incredibly special polaroids he had taken throughout the day! Believe them when people tell you the day flies by because it really does and as much as I tried to be in-the-moment all night, there are still details I missed - Nikk didn’t miss any details in his shots. He captured all of our most cherished moments so beautifully and we will forever be thankful! We’ve even started talking about Holiday photos just so we can hire Nikk again!"
