A Texas State Capitol Wedding in downtown Austin

Weddings look a whole lot different these days than they ever have before. COVID-19 has forced couples to get creative and flexible with their special day. Micro-weddings, elopements, intimate ceremonies - there are so many different ways to still plan the day of your dreams. Savannah and Jeff opted to have a small wedding ceremony at the Catholic chapel in Fort Hood and then celebrated their union at the State Capitol. The couple kept it intimate - a best man, a maid of honor, a priest, and a photographer (me!), but this Texas State Capitol Wedding was such a dream to shoot.

Intimate weddings reveal what’s truly important

Savannah and Jeff were such an incredible couple. Despite having to pivot their wedding plans because of COVID, their spirits were high and their connection was undeniable. This wedding was a day full of love and laughter. You could tell just how much everyone loved and enjoyed each other! Intimate weddings really reveal what’s truly important on a wedding day - family, close friends, and the vows exchanged between two people who want to spend their lives together. That is exactly what was encompassed in this Texas State Capitol Wedding.

A Texas State Capitol wedding over Zoom

We spent the day in front of the Capitol and I loved capturing the fun moments between Savannah and Jeff and their close friends. We gallivanted downtown and I snapped, both, fun and romantic photos of this incredible group of people. A special part of this intimate wedding was when friends and family joined this beautiful couple over Zoom as they exchanged vows. I really enjoyed being a part of Savannah and Jeff’s special day and wish them all the best in their life together!
