It’s not everyday that you get to photograph a good friend! I had the honor of doing an anniversary shoot with Nicole and Josh, and we had a ton of fun together! Nicole is a good friend of mine, and she’s an amazing photographer, her business is Map & Compass Photography. She moved to Colorado, but came back to Austin for a wedding and to mentor two other photographers. This was the perfect opportunity for Josh to drive up from San Antonio, so they could do their anniversary shoot!

It was a very fast-paced shoot, because we had multiple locations to hit. Luckily it was obvious that Nicole and Josh knew what they were doing, so we were able to jump in immediately. Every location that we went to marked a significant moment in their relationship. We went to the apartments where they first met, and the restaurant where they had their first date. We also went to Zilker Park, which they visited often while they were dating. To top it all off (pun intended), we ended the shoot at Mt Bonnell. Josh proposed to Nicole here, so you can imagine that this is a special spot for them!

As a photographer, I never back away from a challenge. Having this many locations in one photoshoot definitely was a unique and fun experience! I love the diverse look that the different locations brought to their anniversary photos. It's like a mini-collection of their love story, with each chapter marked by another photography location. As you look through these anniversary photos of Nicole and Josh, I’m pretty sure that you will start adoring this amazing couple too!
