As an Austin, Texas wedding photographer, I get the privilege of working with some of the best wedding vendors in the Austin area, especially when doing styled shoots! During this shoot it was our coordinator, Alex Moreau of XO Moreau Wedding & Events that really helped bring everything together. It was her genius that decided to base this styled shoot around the idea that you can combine multiple distinct styles for a beautiful outcome. This was all based around two trendy wedding styles: modern and vintage. It was Alex’s wedding coordinator experience that taught her that often times clients are torn between wedding styles. With so much wedding inspiration out there, it can lead couples to believe they have to choose just one for their wedding. It was to disprove this way of thinking that Alex designed this styled shoot around the idea that you can combine multiple distinct styles for a beautiful outcome… and I couldn’t have been more blown away by the results!
We had many unique vintage pieces courtesy of Bee Lavish Vintage that made a statement during this shoot. Old, weathered leather chairs at the sweetheart table, with candelabras and an old hat box. Our mid-century backdrop carried that vintage look into the ceremony.
We kept the modern aspect with the attire; the groom dressing for cold weather in his emerald turtleneck and suit from Bonobo’s. The bride in a simplistic Tara La Tour gown with small statement jewelry pieces from Shaesby's that kept the modern vibe, while her bangs and wrap around braid said otherwise.
And finally, our unique menu cards (Alex’s favorite part) had each person’s dinner option of choice, the name at the top, all while laying on a bed of fresh flowers atop the plate.
All in all, this shoot proves that couples can design their wedding freely - allowing them to combine multiple trendy themes to incorporate their own signature style!
