Every element of Caitlin and Scott’s Mattie’s Austin wedding was so vibrant and beautiful! They chose to continue with their celebration in spite of the restrictions around the COVID-19 pandemic, and so they carefully curated an intimate event with less than 50 of their nearest and dearest. The result was a day bursting with joy and stylish details.
Modern chic met old-world elegance at this Mattie’s Austin wedding
This gorgeous Mattie’s Austin wedding had a ceremony outside under a huge old oak tree. I loved the way the clean lines and luscious florals of the ceremony decorations contrasted with the stately, historic feeling of the 19th-century venue. Caitlin deliberately wove old and new together when she was planning the perfect event, and the day ended up having this dreamy, timeless feel as a result.
Striking visuals and intimate moments
The bright oranges and reds of the color palette here really glowed against the whites and blacks of this beautiful old home, and Caitlin herself was totally radiant! She said that most Texas brides would’ve been on the fence about a long-sleeved wedding dress in the fall heat, but she knew that the romantic lace and the bell sleeves were the touch of drama she wanted for her look.
So many of the details of this Mattie’s Austin wedding struck me with their thoughtfulness and effortless cool - from customized mini hand sanitizers as wedding favors to the mid-dance party snacks (sliders and fries!) I think one of my favorite moments, though, was after the ceremony, when Caitlin and Scott snuck away before their cocktail hour to a private room in the Mattie’s Austin attic and shared a little fondue, just the two of them. It felt romantic and rebellious in equal measure!
This Mattie’s Austin wedding was one for the books
I am so excited for Scott and Caitlin to start this new chapter together - it was a true honor to capture moments from their day!

"Look no further – you’ve found the BEST photographer in town! Working with Nikk Nguyen was an absolute pleasure. His professionalism and ability to capture our big day in all its splendor is something that I’ll forever be thankful for. From day one – leading to our wedding day, Nikk was an excellent communicator. He guided us on everything we needed to know in order to make our wedding day a roaring success.
One of my favorite things I loved about Nikk is that he allowed us to be “us”. His gentle coaching allowed him to catch those perfectly intimate moments, while still granting him the ability to capture our own individually. Nikk also gave us plenty of moments to smile, be silly, and have fun. There’s absolutely no questioning Nikk’s undeniable talent – our wedding photos speak for themselves.
As I look back at my wedding day, I know that Nikk was our best decision ever. The moments he captured of my husband and I, family, and close friends – will absolutely be cherished forever. I HIGHLY encourage all couples to hire, Nikk – I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed. Because of how wonderful our experience was (not to mention how perfect our photos turned out), my husband and I have committed to using Nikk for other major life events. He is truly the best around! Nikk - Thank you for all that you do and for being so truly amazing!!"
