Magical botanical garden Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Wedding
When you’re in the wedding business, you see countless wedding venues - hotels, backyards, gardens, vineyards, etc. But there are some venues that whisk you away and make you feel like you’re in another land. Mary and David chose to have a Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center wedding, which is where we also shot their engagement photos, and it felt like we were transported to a secret garden. It. Was. Stunning. Adorned with trees, stone buildings, and a lit courtyard with a fountain, this botanical garden was absolutely magical. The bride’s Vivienne Atelier lace dress with leaf details was the perfect choice for a romantic garden-themed wedding and the flower arrangements and bouquets added to the whimsical feel of the day.
A special first-look together before the ceremony
The couple highlighted how special the first look was for them, which I hear a lot as a wedding photographer. After a full and busy morning of getting ready, “It was amazing to finally see each other for the first look… [it] allowed us to have a special moment together before the ceremony [and] turned our nerves into excitement, allowing us to feel like we were taking on the ceremony together and moving into our marriage side-by-side, as a team.” The night ended with an “epic dance party.” The live band, The Matt Wilson Band, brought so much energy and everyone had an absolute blast, wishing the night could go on forever.
A day centered on what matters most
When asked what advice they would give to a newly engaged couple planning a wedding the couple responded, “We would highly recommend that you organize [your] day to highlight the things that mean the most to you… While everyone will remind you that this day is about you, sometimes it’s easy to miss that the FLOW of the day is also for you, so make it what you want it to be!” The couple rearranged different parts of the evening to maximize their time on the dance floor because celebrating with friends and family was important to them. All in all, this Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center wedding was a magical night to remember!

Before you jump into the photos, check out what this couple had to say about working with me:
"Nikk is incredibly talented and was such a pleasure to have as part of our wedding day. His work speaks for itself- he is able to capture candid, intimate moments with gorgeous composition and coloring in his shots. We were in awe of how many photos we received from both our engagement and wedding sessions. In addition, he went above and beyond, stepping up to help organize the flow of our wedding day when the planner was occupied elsewhere. His second shooter, Sarah, captured equally impressive shots. We do not know how they got so many angles of our ceremony without ever capturing each other in the background! Nikk's calm and positive demeanor made us so comfortable, which in turn, made for naturally blissful photos of us! We highly, highly recommend Nikk!"
