Capturing Kelly and Nick’s intimate wedding at the beautiful Lenoir in the heart of Austin, Texas was a new experience for me. Sure, I’ve photographed my fair share of weddings of all shapes and sizes, but this one really stood out to me and I’ll tell you why...
I’ve shot intimate weddings before, but nothing quite as intimate as this. The guest list was only about 10-12 people and the focus that clearly stood out was that of family. I think that’s what really took the intimate feeling to a deeper level. It was as though they had carefully whittled down their guest list, choosing those that were among the closest to their hearts and whose presence was sure to enhance the familial atmosphere. I’m not sure if that’s what they had in mind, but it was so strong that even I felt like I was spending the day with close family and friends.
The location Kelly and Nick chose helped to create the absolute perfect environment as well. I’d never been to Lenoir; a hip restaurant in the heart of Austin, Texas, but it was the perfect spot to house this intimate wedding. Not only did Lenoir offer the perfect ambiance, it also provide the ideal space for a wedding banquet. Everyone gathered around a single grand table and enjoyed champagne and a five course meal together. If that doesn’t make for a wonderfully intimate wedding I don’t know what does!
After everything's said and done, one thing I’ve learned from shooting with Kelly and Nick is that I’d absolutely love to have the privilege of capturing more intimate weddings like this!
