The love of this couple was on full display amidst the modern elegance of Prospect House. Gabriela and Zac shared with us their favorite moments, their wedding planning tips, and more!
Collaborating for the Future
“Our wedding day was all about celebrating our six year relationship with the people who helped us get there–from related family to chosen family.”
Gabriela
Gabriela and Zac were meticulous about what they wanted for their wedding. Using her background as a user experience designer, Gabriela planned and designed each element of the wedding together with Zac. She designed prints, venue layouts, and more while Zac helped her coordinate with vendors to prepare a day that they were both excited about celebrating. Gabriela and Zac believe in the power of collaboration, an important foundation for any relationship.
Adding the Personal Touches
The theme was simplistic-yet-modern elegance with accents of green that highlighted the beauty of the Texas hill country. Vibrant white florals livened up the space while fun, personal elements–like cat-themed cocktails–added whims of playfulness and personality. Gabriela’s Maid of Honor booked her a dress selection appointment at the famous Kleinfeld Bridal shop as an homage to the many Say Yes to the Dress marathon’s that Gabriela had with her mother before her passing.
Celebrating Your Way
Some of the most exciting parts of their big day included friends and family. Instead of a traditional dance, Gabriela invited her whole family to kick off the dancing in a special moment before including Zac’s family to bring them all together. Fun and laughter was abundant with props for the wedding party entrance being brought to the dance floor later. Overall, Gabriela and Zac’s favorite moment was standing at the altar, together, and saying their vows. Despite a few setbacks–like Gabriela’s veil flying off!--they were both focused on making a commitment to one another for life.
Trust the Experts--and Yourself!
Weddings can be difficult to plan, which is why Gabriela suggests not worrying too much about tradition. A perfect wedding day is all about celebrating in a way that is meaningful and fun to the couple. Gabriela also stressed the importance of finding vendors who understand what you want and also letting them do what they do best. She offered, “You know what you want, and they know how it’s done. Collaboration is key!”
