When Danielle and Andy approached me about photographing their wedding, I loved the vision they created. Piling all the people they love into a beautiful campsite – Camp Capers, in Comfort, just outside of San Antonio, to be exact – and having a weekend of fun, food, and love sounds like the best kind of wedding to me! It was a family wedding down to its core, and I had so much fun capturing some fun family wedding photos with this crazy tribe.

But before we got to the fun family wedding photos, I got to be present for what turned out to be one of my favorite moments of the whole day: the first look. Now, first looks are always fun. On a day that inevitably ends up packed with people, the first look is often a couple’s chance to have a quiet deep breath together. It can be giddy or tender, and this one was both. Andy, eyes shut, had a friend lead him up to where Danielle was waiting under a huge old tree – and when he looked, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her.

Fun Family Wedding Photos on the Dance Floor!

But to see the heart of this wedding, you gotta scroll down to the dancing! This is where fun family wedding photos really thrive. I love using a longer exposure time on the dancefloor to catch the movement and the atmosphere, and this family wedding welcomed kids onto the dance floor — and ended up with some really cute shots! Seeing a whole family, young and old, celebrating and laughing all together is one of the most special parts of my job. Danielle and Andy’s family really know how to party!

To see another fun wedding with family at the center, take a look at this celebration at the Riley Building in Austin. For more incredible weddings in and around the Austin area, be sure to scroll through my blog.
