A small and intimate Lucky Arrow Retreat Elopement
Elopements have become more and more popular because of COVID, but I can honestly say that they have become some of my most favorite weddings to shoot. There is something uniquely special that happens when the wedding day is focused solely on two people and their love for each other. Everything else fades away and all that remains is what matters most - love. I got the privilege of shooting Emily and Jerod’s Lucky Arrow Retreat elopement in Dripping Springs, Texas. It was such a beautiful day spent with just these two incredible lovebirds.
Such a special and memorable wedding day
Emily and Jerod always planned to elope and have an intimate ceremony. Hill Country is particularly special to them and they always imagined getting married in that scenery, which made this Lucky Arrow Retreat elopement all the more special. The bright colors and lush flowers were chosen in order to create a bright and cheery atmosphere for the day. Emily and Jerod were intentional about all the different elements of the day - from the brass egrets and glass alligators that reminded them of their home in Louisiana; to the Buc-ee’s cake toppers on their epic wedding cake that were symbolic of their adventures through Texas together.
An intimate ceremony and dinner for two
This Lucky Arrow Retreat elopement consisted of a beautiful ceremony where Emily and Jerod exchanged their vows (everyone shed some tears - including the officiant and myself!). The ceremony was followed by an intimate dinner for two with the most stunning charcuterie board I have ever seen! The couple danced to a playlist curated by the bride, they cut the cake and laughed late into the evening. This Lucky Arrow Retreat elopement had every single beautiful element of any other wedding. But the special moments shared between these two made this wedding a day to remember!

Before you jump into the photos, check out what this couple had to say about working with me:
"We chose Nikk based his stunning work we came across on a wedding site. He was a pleasure to work with, was extremely flexible with us during a date change due to COVID, and provided photos we'll treasure forever. Nikk has a sharp eye and captured candid and sweet moments of our day. He was efficient and gave us great cues as he took some posed pictures. Nikk even provided some thoughtful extras like some gifs and mini movies for our Instagram pages. His final images blew us away. Nikk's sensitivity to light, color, surroundings, and interactions between us provided a cinematic gallery of prints we can't wait to share with loved ones. I would recommend Nikk for any special event or couples pictures. He provides great value, artistic treatment, and is a delight to work with. 10/10."
"We were lucky to have Nikk photograph our elopement last month and we couldn't be happier with the results. From the second he arrived at the venue, he began capturing the area, and us, with a sharp eye. Nikk is very professional and efficient but also just a great guy. It's very easy to be photographed by him. His sense of timing is impeccable--especially important when you're trying to get those "golden hour" shots--and he has a talent for telling a story. And that's what we got when we received our final gallery--an entire story of our day, with the mood, and our love, perfectly captured.
We really loved that he not only used his professional equipment but some cool phone apps to take some 'improv' shots that he turned into GIFs, Super 8 videos, etc.--short but fun! And unexpected. If you've seen Nikk's work on social media you know that he has the talent to capture the essence and "cool" of every couple he works with. We're so glad we were able to work with him on our day. We have a photo gallery that we'll cherish forever."
