Revealing your engagement ring to the world often opens a floodgates of questions and opinions about your wedding day. During the wedding planning process (whether it's for an intimate downtown wedding or otherwise), you will receive more advice than you know what to do with. It usually comes from a good heart, and recommendations can be incredibly helpful. In fact, I have a whole section of my website dedicated to such recommendations, whether you’re looking for unique wedding rentals in Austin or trying to decide between a live band or DJ.

There are so many ways to tie the knot, so many different styles, and thus - a myriad of opinions about how you “should” go about your big day. In the midst of all of this, it’s important to remember that it is your wedding.

Bailee and Jack are the perfect examples on how to do this. They opted for a very intimate downtown wedding with only immediate family. Every aspect of their wedding day was a unique representation of their love and their story. They exchanged vows standing in a sea of candles, surrounded by their close family members. They literally tied the knot in the ceremony as a white and red rope was tied around their hands as a representation of their connection.

“It was wonderful to have such a close, meaningful celebration of our marriage with our family,” said the newlyweds.

It was beautiful to see how Bailee and Jack stayed close to themselves. After their first look, they grabbed coffee at Royal Blue and headed to the ceremony, which was done in a modern style in the midst of downtown Austin.

Instead of a traditional wedding gown, Bailee wore a classy and elegant jumpsuit that complemented Jack’s light grey suit perfectly. I loved their outfits, they looked like they walked straight out of a magazine together!

Bailee and Jack loved having their reception dinner at Bar Peached. “The venue was beautiful," they said. "It perfectly fit our intimate vibe!”

The family came together during this intimate downtown wedding to celebrate their marriage and end the day with photo albums, a stunning wedding cake and great food.

Bailee and Jack’s advice for other couples is to stay close to yourself. “Remember that it is your wedding— make it yours however you see fit, regardless of others’ opinions. Enjoy your day!”

"It was wonderful having Nikk be a part of our day! Our pictures came out amazing for both the engagement and wedding shoots. Nikk also took super 8 footage for us that was stunning. We are so glad we can remember the day through his work for years to come!"
