Austin is one of those cities that has it all. From urban engagement shoots to sunny elopements on a ranch, the most frequent star guest of my photography is the ever-stunning Austin. My photos show off all that Austin, Texas has to offer; from sweeping views of Enchanted Rock, to the hustling city streets of downtown.
Last minute Austin engagement shoot anyone?
Brittany and Dan came all the way from Chicago to finish wedding planning with my friend Alex from XO Moreau Weddings. Brittany and Dan decided to do a last-minute engagement shoot while they were here, which is how they ended up in front of my lens!
And man, I'm so glad they did. It took some time to break out of their shell in the beginning of the shoot, but I can't blame them. It can be intimidating to stare at a black box with a stranger's eye behind it, eyeing the way you give your partner kisses on the nose! 😉 With that said, it never takes long for the ice to break, and we ended up having such a great time together. After all, photographers are WAY less scary than people think!
For their engagement shoot, we walked around the streets of Downtown Austin, stopping at the little nooks and crannies of the city that often offer the best photo ops. Brittany and Dan dared to be a little goofy, which made for the best photos!
The best part of this downtown engagement shoot
My favorite part of this engagement shoot was the time we spent in the bar. Rooftop bars are big here in Austin. If you're ever passing through or visiting for a weekend, you have to visit at least one or two! We went to Handlebar, and I highly recommend it. It was so fun to get to play on a few of the installations in the bar - there's nothing like movement and laughter to make for the most spontaneous photographs.
I'm so glad that Brittany and Dan found each other, they complement each other perfectly. I'm also thankful that they found my friend Alex, as she will take the stress out of their wedding planning. And lastly, of course, I'm grateful they found me, because being their engagement photographer was such a blast!
