In a city as photogenic as Austin, Texas you don’t always have to plan out exactly where your engagement shoot will take place. Especially when you have a couple that’s as fun as Isabella and Ed; you're bound to find opportunities for great spring time engagement photos all around you!

Isabella and Ed joined up with me at the South Congress Hotel (an excellent wedding venue by the way!), where we walked down South Congress Avenue. We stopped at places along the way that looked awesome. From a pretty brick wall to some greenery as a backdrop, from a hammock to a rooftop... this was an adventure of the urban kind. Isabella and Ed loosened up really quickly, and a great time ensued!

You probably already knew that life is better with pizza, but apparently this also applies to wedding engagement shoots, especially the casual ones! I knew they were hungry, so we decided to grab a slice during the shoot from Home Slice Pizza. Most wedding photographers try to avoid taking photos of people while they’re eating, but I did the exact opposite. When I look at those photos of them eating pizza together, I’m glad I did!

We ended the evening with some more shots in downtown Austin and had a great time together. We even ended up on a rooftop! With lots of laughter and stunning views of the city, I loved being able to capture their love for each other.

I rarely had to tell these two to smile for the camera, Isabella and Ed are so visibly happy that they found each other that it just radiates from them. I can’t wait for their wedding in December!

Before you jump into the photos, check out what this couple had to say about working with me:

"I am SO happy we chose Nikk for our photographer! Wedding photos are forever, so I wasn't going to take this decision lightly. I found Nikk pretty early on though, so it ended up being so much easier than I thought! He is very responsive and helpful, even when the questions don't have anything to do with your photo session. When we were shooting our engagement pictures, my fiance and I were a little hangry and Nikk was so nice and patient; we even incorporated eating a piece of pizza so we could tie ourselves over till dinner. He is super lax and goes with the flow, but doesn't sacrifice his goal or your time.

Now his style: the reason we wanted to work with Nikk was because we could tell he cared about the little moments and interactions between his subjects. I know he will capture everyone's happiness too and that is priceless! He has a very soft and natural editing style that I absolutely love. When I showed my Maid of Honor our engagement photos her immediate reaction was "Oh my god I love all of them...the vibe is beautiful"! I received sooo many compliments about how perfect and beautiful the photos are!

I can't recommend Nikk enough! He is an extremely talented photographer that is 1000000% worth it :)"
