Watching this happy couple dance and laugh with family and friends, all while celebrating their Mexican heritage, was a true honor and joy set against the modern design and rolling hills of the Prospect House venue.
Culture and Love
Brooke and Danul knew that they wanted their wedding to be about more than just their union; they also saw it as an opportunity to honor their Mexican roots and culture. The couple considers themselves to be grounded and proud in their identity, and they couldn’t wait to weave that into their big day. “We wanted to highlight our culture in a non-stereotypical way and draw attention to the color palette,” Brooke told us.
All About Family
Their wedding was also a chance to reunite with family and friends that they hadn’t seen in a couple of years. Some of the best and most memorable moments included sharing delicious food and drink with family and dancing the night away with the outdoor mariachi band and the indoor DJ. “To feel love, community, and happiness was all we could ask for.” They wanted their dance party to go on forever.
Planning Ahead
“We were conscious of uplifting and supporting Black Indigenous People Of Color throughout the wedding planning journey, and this included supporting artists who live right outside of Mexico City and working with them to weave some gorgeous table runners for our special day.”
Brooke
Brooke and Danul also spoke about wedding planning and how great and responsive all of their vendors were. The couple highly recommends a wedding planner, especially for an out-of-state wedding. Brooke suggests giving yourself two years to plan the big day to give plenty of time and alleviate stress. Another invaluable suggestion from Brooke: “Researching the vendors and meeting with them to make sure they were the right choice was vital.”
