Intimate Boho Backyard Wedding

I had the privilege of photographing Yola and Chris’s sweet boho backyard wedding at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This wonderful couple opted for an incredibly intimate celebration with only their parents and a few from their closest circle. The result was one of the most elegant and tasteful micro-weddings I’ve ever been able to shoot.

The whole entire day took place within a hundred feet. The rooms where Yola and Chris got ready, the back porch that served as Yola’s aisle entrance, and the adorable garden courtyard where they held their boho backyard wedding. String lights gave the garden an intimate, magical feel. Individual tables for their few guests meant that the event felt polished and intentional in a really special way.

Delicate Boho-Style Touches

In a simple boho backyard wedding like this, every detail stands out and matters even more than at a huge celebration. Yola and Chris really chose their details with such love and care. The whole event had such a cohesive sense of style. The real star of the show was Yola’s dramatic wedding dress, which was totally covered in lace. Her train trailed behind her as she descended the steps of the porch down towards her family. She looked totally radiant.

The couple used woven rugs, rust-colored flowers, cut crystal pitchers, and a silver champagne bucket to give a strong sense of atmosphere to the courtyard where they held this boho backyard wedding. After the ceremony, everyone popped bubbly and toasted to the couple right then and there. They also made sure to raise a glass to the friends and family who were watching over Zoom.

It was a real honor to capture this unique celebration, and I loved every second of it. For more examples of my work as a wedding photographer, check out my portfolio for more!
