It is not uncommon for couples to tell me they chose a wedding direction that ended up being the opposite of what they initially wanted. They think they know what they want going in, but find themselves headed in a completely different direction once the planning process begins to unfold. Melissa and Alex's Biltmore Hotel Miami wedding was no different. Everything from the venue to the decor, to the style of the wedding dress, was completely different from what they had wanted going in but, as you will see, it turned out perfectly!
A Bohemian-styled Biltmore Hotel Miami Wedding
Melissa and Alex were married at a STUNNING venue in Coral Gables, Florida. Traditional with an old-world, Spanish charm, the Biltmore Hotel Miami was the perfect location to host their ceremony and reception. It reminded me of the Tropical Bohemian Shoot I did at Hotel El Convento in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. But Melissa did know one thing: She wanted to implement elements of her own personal Bohemian style instead of going a more traditional route. This inspired her to choose Anthology Co. for her flowers, creating a more artistic and Bohemian look to the day.
An all-night dance party with family and friends
Something that the couple both agreed on for this Biltmore Hotel Miami wedding was that they wanted the dance floor to be packed all.night.long. They chose the band, Higher Ground, who delivered just what the couple had ordered - a high-energy, party-into-the-night, packed dance floor that lasted until one o’clock in the morning!
A beautiful day focused on shared love and happiness
Their favorite moment of the day was their first look when all of the planning, stress, and anxiety of wedding planning faded into the background and nothing else mattered but each other. “[It was] most important to us that our wedding focused on the love that the two of us share for one another,” Melissa expressed. When you take a look at these photos, you can actually see and experience the love that these two have for each other. This Biltmore Hotel Miami wedding was beautiful Biltmore and I am so excited about the journey that lies ahead of these two!

Before you jump into the photos, check out what this couple had to say about working with me:
"It's hard to find the right words to describe Nikk's pure talent. He has a way of capturing life's most amazing moments so organically, so fluid, and so seamlessly. For both my husband and I, we don't love being in front of the camera, so hiring someone that was able to make us feel so comfortable was simply perfect. It rained on our wedding day, changing all our plans, Nikk handled it flawlessly. He works so incredibly hard, and doesn't let the chaotic environment of a 25 person bridal party and 200 person get to him. I feel so lucky that Nikk was our photographer for our wedding. I highly recommend to anyone that wants photos that are a true, emotional reflection of your special day."
