Austin Wedding Venue – The Line Hotel

Austin, TX Residents Should Think About the Line Hotel for their Wedding

Within the past couple of decades, the nation has become aware of the thriving art and music scene in Austin, TX, but many natives have known about what the city has to offer for far longer than that. If you live in Austin, though, and you plan on getting married soon, do you know what some of the better venues are to host the event? You want a spot that offers aesthetic appeal, unique décor, and a welcoming atmosphere. That’s why Nikk Nguyen Photo recommends the Line Hotel, in downtown Austin within shouting distance of the Convention Center.

Why Should You Consider the Line Hotel?

The Line Hotel prides itself on being plugged into the creative energy that fuels Austin. The hotel is part of the city’s rich history, the location of a former jazz club which broadcast live on local radio back in the 1960s. In ’65 it was remodeled as a collaboration between LA-based designer Sean Knibb and Austin architect Michael Hsu. The Line is one of the go-to venues for eclectic events of all kinds, and you can count on the staff to put together a representative Texan wedding for you.

The Line has 20,000 feet of versatile spaces, encompassing a rooftop restaurant, pool deck, and much more. You’ll marvel at the meticulously preserved midcentury architecture of the Onyx Ballroom, the hotel’s largest gathering space that can hold up to 665 people. The floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room in natural light, and the view of the Congress Avenue Bridge and Town Lake is nothing short of spectacular. If you have a smaller party, then the Topaz Room is a possibility as well, with seating for up to 340 guests.

The Amenities

Everyone knows that great weddings feature memorable dinners, and while you can certainly bring in catering from one of the phenomenal area restaurants, you would do well to consider letting the hotel handle the victuals. The chefs celebrate global diversity while remaining true to the robust spirit of Texas cooking. The Line’s kitchen crew will meet with you to work out every detail of the menu, and their culinary contributions will bring your evening to the next level. The Line can also provide some suggestions as it relates to live music, and their expert bartenders can craft some signature cocktails exclusively for your wedding that are based on your alcohol preferences.

“We just celebrated our wedding as one of the first at The LINE! We chose the hotel because we live in LA and LOVE the hotel here—great food, bars, karaoke, accommodations. We were ecstatic to hear they just opened in Austin! We did NOT want to stress about weather in Texas, so we wanted and indoor wedding (though the dream was an outdoor one). The LINE’s ballroom was incredible for the ceremony. It’s entirely tree lined year-round behind the floor to ceiling windows, so it had this wonderful outdoor setting with none of the cold or rain. We did our cocktail our in their upstairs restaurant which was a quick accommodation they did for us due to some construction delays. It was an incredibly restaurant—beautiful views and decor (overlooks the lake). We also did our first look there and they came out beautiful. The food was fantastic!! The staff accommodated our family style request, they made us beautiful signature drinks, they provided furniture, tables, the works! I also really loved working with Paige, the event coordinator. She always had a positive attitude, answered questions in a timely manner, kept us informed on progress, and really made us feel supported through the entire planning process and wedding. The bridal suite was also fantastic, and we did our after party at the bar downstairs!! Our guests loved the accommodations, there were a lot of extra amenities they offered tot them. I’m so happy we tied the knot there and that we were able to show our guests such a great time!”

“When we first walked into the lobby, we knew that we wanted to have our wedding here! It’s such a unique space with a central location. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all held in the Topaz rooms on the second floor, and it was a perfect space for our 64 guests. So many of our guests raved about how incredible their reception dinner was, and we knew from the tasting prior to the wedding that everything was going to be delectable. There were so many special touches that made our wedding memorable, such as passed champagne prior to the ceremony, little desserts to accompany our cake table, and late-night sliders. Paige, the event coordinator, is phenomenal! We cannot recommend her enough. She worked with us to plan and personalize our wedding for months, and on the day itself, she made everything totally seamless, which was especially helpful when it came to coordinating vendors. Having our wedding at The LINE Austin made our celebration memorable and unique.”

“We had our morning wedding and brunch reception at the Line and it was absolutely perfect! Their recently renovated ballrooms are beautiful, with floor to ceiling windows with breathtaking views of Congress Bridge and the lake. Great for an outdoor feel, but with indoors A/C, especially in the Texas summer. With a variety of different sized ballrooms, all with great views, they can accommodate small to large weddings! I received many compliments from my guests about the elegance of the venue and the deliciousness of the in-house catering. The event director at the Line, Stephanie, was incredibly responsive, helpful, and wonderful to work with! I could not have asked for a better experience.”
