For anyone looking for that classic Texas vibe, Ranch Austin boasts flowing fields, stunning vistas, and longhorn cattle galore! While neither Amara or James is from the Austin area, this venue provided exactly what they were searching for to gather their friends and family for their wedding day.
From Separate Corners
While Amara was originally born and raised close by in Houston, James is from the other side of the world in Brisbane, Australia. On a wild chance, they happened to both be in New York City at the same time. A dating app pulled them together for a couple dates before James was called back to a work emergency in Papua New Guinea. Being separated by continents and oceans couldn’t keep these two apart, and, after a year of making long distance work, Amara joined James for their third date. After a couple more international trips to see each other, Amara moved to live with James on the other side of the world.
Embrace the Texas
When it came to choosing a wedding location, the couple decided on a Texas venue to be close to Amara’s family. Guests came from all over the world, and many Australians picked up a signature cowboy hat to embrace the Texas style. Bringing together the two families for the first time was a magical and incredible experience. Boho decorating elements chosen by Amara rounded out the already-gorgeous set-up at the venue, and the beer burrows lived up to all the hype.
Planning From Afar
Amara and James were thrilled to share this special day with their friends and family, but it turns out trying to plan a wedding from the other side of the globe is a bit of a challenge. Differing time zones and making choices without being present to assess options were significant hurdles to overcome, but the couple made the situation work for them. Hiring some additional help–if available–was the way to go and ensured that everything was ready for the people traveling to be there. This pair of world travelers from separate corners of the world are ready for their next adventure!
